Herd In The City: Sponsoring a ton of family fun

From mid-July, Southend, Shoeburyness and Leigh will be brought to life by a herd of beautifully decorated elephant sculptures. We’re thrilled to be part of this outdoor art trail, raising vital funds for Havens Hospices’ specialist palliative care.

All ears? Great! Following the success of the Hares About Town trail in 2021, Havens Hospices is teaming up with Wild in Art, bringing unforgettable public art to the city of Southend this summer. As a business with our headquarters in the area, we’re delighted to support the charity’s cultural event once again.

The sculptures we’re sponsoring

Gateway Group couldn’t resist sponsoring ‘Sharman the Starman’ by designer Catherine Ullo. Associated Insurance Services picked ‘Jumbo Oak’ by local artist, Michelle Sutton.

Look out for these, and lots more, elephant sculptures if you’re local, or fancy a trip to the seaside! The free, family-friendly trail runs for seven weeks from Friday 14 July to Monday 4 September. You’ll be able to support Havens Hospices – a truly great cause – by purchasing a map, downloading the charity’s special app or getting involved in fundraising activities. It’s going to be mammoth!
