A regulator will be at the heart of a new regime, and established as part of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), overseeing the design, construction and occupation of high-risk buildings.

Other initiatives include a proposal to extend the cladding ban following the tragic events at Grenfell Tower and a consultation on fire sprinklers, proposing lowering the height threshold for these in new buildings.
